Runcorn Subscription Bowling Club, located behind Runcorn Sports Club in Moughland Lane, has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1910. Since 1925, it has been situated at its present site and has become a popular destination for lawn bowls enthusiasts in Runcorn.
In 2016, the Bowling Club affiliated with Runcorn Sports Club, allowing for a joint membership scheme. This means that Sports Club members can now use the Bowling Green free of charge, while Bowls Club members have access to the excellent facilities provided by the Sports Club.
During the Bowls season, which runs from the end of March to mid-September, Runcorn Subscription Bowling Club has four teams participating in various leagues. These include one team in the Runcorn Bowls League, primarily playing on Tuesday evenings, one team in the Frodsham Bowls League, mainly playing on Wednesday evenings, and two teams in the Pensioners Bowls League, playing on Thursday afternoons.
The club warmly welcomes all Sports Club members and those interested in becoming members to utilise the Bowling Green. The Green is available for casual use at any time, except when the teams are playing. Bowls are provided for use, and coaching or advice can be arranged upon request. The club is also open to new members who wish to join the existing teams or form new teams to participate in local leagues.
Any existing teams looking to transfer and play on the Bowling Green would be received with open arms. The club aims to create a friendly and inclusive environment for all members and teams.
