Runcorn Rockets Basketball Club is a registered not-for-profit organisation that was established in 1999. We are proud to be one of the founding clubs of the SouthWest Metro Pirates Association. Run entirely by volunteers, our club is dedicated to promoting personal growth and creating a supportive environment for players of all ages.
Our training programmes are designed to develop players of every skill level. Whether you aspire to play representative basketball at District or State level, or if you simply want to enjoy a team sport with friends, we have a programme that will suit you. Our age groups range from 5 to 18 years old, ensuring that we can provide age-appropriate training for all our members.
For our younger members, we offer the Under 8 programme, which serves as an introduction to basketball. Boys and girls aged 5, 6, and 7 can join this programme to learn the fundamental skills of the game in a fun and engaging environment. Our accredited coaches provide quality instruction and organise weekly training sessions and Saturday games.
The Under 10 programme is another fantastic option for young players. With a focus on skill development and enjoyment of the sport, our Under 10 participants train once a week and compete in organised games on Saturdays.
For players aged 12 to 18, our Under 12 – 18 and Under division offers a pathway for those interested in playing at a higher level. Our coaches will assess each participant to determine the appropriate age and skill level for placement within our teams.
In addition to our traditional team-based programmes, we also offer a Training Only option. This is perfect for players who are uncertain about committing to games, have scheduling conflicts, or lack confidence at this stage. This programme allows them to participate in training sessions and develop their skills without the pressure of game play.
To make sure our members look their best on the court, we provide all necessary equipment and a range of sporting attire. Our online shop offers a variety of basketball gear, allowing our members and coaches to feel good and look good while representing the Runcorn Rockets.
