“Run Coaching” is a personal training service based in Belfast, offering online coaching for runners of all levels. The founder and coach of Run Coaching is Dave Lonnen, a certified UK Athletics Endurance Coach with over 20 years of coaching experience.
Dave Lonnen himself has an impressive running background, with 45 years of running experience, including 7 years at the international level. He has achieved personal best times of 5k in 14. 17, 10k in 29. 33, 5 miles in 22.
55, 8 miles in 38. 55, and half-marathon in 66. 13. He has a long history of race results and progression, starting from his teenage years.
From a young age, Dave's father, who is still ranked in the top 5 for his age group in the UK, encouraged him to start running. Despite not initially being considered a talented runner, Dave persisted and found success as he moved through the age groups, representing his school, district, and county in various track, cross country, and road races.
Dave's running journey took a significant leap forward in his mid-twenties when he joined a group of strong international runners for training. With consistent hard work and quality training sessions, Dave was able to improve his personal best times to an impressive 14. 17 for 5k and 29. 33 for 10k.
He started winning and placing in local races and even competed in the World Cross Country Championships and European Cross Country Champs.
The foundation of Dave's success as a runner and coach lies in his persistence, commitment, and willingness to learn from experienced athletes. He believes that talent is not the sole determinant of success in running, but rather a love for the sport and a drive to be the best one can be.
Run Coaching offers two main coaching options. The first is a personalised continuous programme, where athletes receive a tailored running programme, regular progress reviews, and unlimited support via telephone, email, or social media. The second option is a Running MOT, which is a one-time payment of 50. This includes a complete analysis of the athlete's current training and performances, recommendations for improvements, and an outline programme based on the review.
