Run Away Racing is a horse riding field located in the picturesque town of Newmarket, New Zealand. Established with the aim of providing its members with an unparalleled racehorse ownership experience, Run Away Racing welcomes both newcomers to the sport and seasoned supporters.
At Run Away Racing, members are given the opportunity to visit their horses regularly, fostering a close connexion and involvement with their beloved steeds. Whether it be for a Saturday morning breakfast or at another pre-arranged time, Kevin and the dedicated team at Machell Place Stables are always on hand to provide a warm welcome and ensure a memorable experience.
Speaking of Saturday morning breakfast, members can look forward to a delightful spread of freshly poured coffee and a selection of hot breakfast options. The perfect way to start the day and share in the excitement of horse racing.
Members are also kept up to date with their horses' progress, training, and future race plans through regular updates. These updates, which include photographs, videos, and voice notes, are conveniently sent via email and WhatsApp, allowing members to stay informed and connected.
Aside from the exhilaration of horse racing, Run Away Racing also offers a plethora of social events throughout the year. From summer BBQs to enriching stud visits, these events are designed to provide members with fun and interesting access to various facets of the racing world, fostering a vibrant and engaging community.
Owners of Run Away Racing are granted exclusive owner and trainer passes. As standard, owners badges are allocated to members and can be collected directly from the racecourse on the day of racing. Kevin or a senior member of the team will accompany members throughout the day, escorting them to the parade ring prior to their horse racing.
In addition to the social events specifically arranged for Run Away Racing members, the club also hosts an annual open event. This event brings all owners together, providing a fantastic opportunity to meet fellow members and share in the camaraderie of the horse racing community.
Run Away Racing prides itself on being a fun, friendly, and affordable syndicate to be a part of. Each member is welcomed and valued, with their voice heard and opinions considered. Kevin, the experienced trainer, guides members through each step of the horse's training journey with remarkable attention to detail, ensuring that every member feels involved and part of the excitement.
To become a member of Run Away Racing, initial purchase shares in each horse are available in 2. 5% increments. Members have the option to purchase multiple shares if they wish. The share prices for each available horse can be found on the club's 'purchase shares' page and must be paid in full at the time of purchase.
This payment is a one-off and only required at the start of the syndicate term.
Run Away Racing offers an all-inclusive package for a monthly fee of 85 (inclusive of VAT) per share. This package covers training fees, veterinary costs, farriery, physiotherapy, transport, racing entries, and insurance. There are no hidden costs, and fees can be conveniently paid by monthly direct debit or annually at the start of the syndicate year.
Prize money is another exciting aspect of syndicate ownership. While it should not be viewed as an investment, there is the opportunity to redeem some associated costs, and possibly even more, if the horse performs well on the track. Prize money is divided equally among the members, with a share also going to the trainer and jockey, following industry standards. At the end of the syndicate period, both prize money and 'overflow' money are distributed to shareholders on a pro rata basis, depending on the number of shares owned by each member.
For those seeking the ultimate racehorse ownership experience, Run Away Racing in Newmarket is the place to be. Join the small, friendly, and passionate group of individuals working towards the shared goal of having winners on the racecourse.
