RR Gymnastics and Trampoline Club, located in Middleton, welcomes individuals of all ages to join their exciting and educational classes. From 2 years old and up, including adult classes, there is something for everyone at the club. The recreational program offers classes that introduce participants to artistic gymnastics and trampoline. Skills practised on the vault, bars, beam, floor, and trampoline help improve agility, flexibility, strength, and balance, while also teaching fun new skills.
The skills learned in these classes prepare athletes for more dedicated gymnastics training and can be transferred to other sports as well.
For those interested in competitive gymnastics, the club offers teams ranging from ages 6 to 18. Following the Junior Olympic Program adapted by Gymnastics Canada, as well as the FIG Trampoline Program, athletes compete in provincial qualifying meets in Nova Scotia and occasionally travel to other provinces for competitions. Competitive programs are by invitation only. In addition to regular classes, the club also offers summer camps where children can stay active and engaged in physical education through games, crafts, and physical activities.
Pre-registration is required for these programs.
One unique program offered at RR Gymnastics and Trampoline Club is the Ninja program, which incorporates movements from parkour, tricking, and gymnastics. Parkour uses military obstacle course training movements to get individuals from one point to another quickly and efficiently. The Ninja program at RR Gymnastics provides a fun and challenging way for participants to improve their physical abilities.
Founded in 1978 by Bruce Naugler, RR Gymnastics has grown from a small recreational club to producing athletes who compete at the provincial and national levels. The club offers a competitive women's artistic program, a diverse recreational program, and a competitive trampoline program. As a non-profit organization, the club is run by volunteers who are passionate about sharing their love for gymnastics with others. Fundraising efforts help to ensure that programs are available for all members and that equipment is well-maintained and replaced when needed.
RR Gymnastics and Trampoline Club is a proud member of Gymnastics Nova Scotia.
