Hey there sports community,
Just a quick note from Alison at Roynon Dance Centre in Southampton. She wants to let you know all about the dance teacher training they offer for aspiring educators.
Roynon Dance Centre is the spot for anyone wanting to dive into teaching dance, whether you're just starting out, making the shift from professional dancing to teaching, or simply looking to brush up on your skills. Alison emphasises a supportive and dynamic environment tailored to your unique journey.
You can pick from Imperial Ballet, Modern Theatre, and Tap Dance, or go all in and do all three. They offer a Diploma in Dance Education (DDE) for a thorough training experience.
The courses are customised to fit each student's needs. Practical classes are held in their purpose-built studios in Woolston, Southampton, with some of the written units accessible remotely via Skype or Zoom. The part-time programme usually takes 2-5 years to finish. You'll cover various units, and after completing a practical teaching exam, you’ll be a fully qualified dance teacher with the ISTD.
Alison's proud of the supportive learning environment at Roynon Dance Centre, and past graduates can’t stop singing their praises. The sense of community and the chance to learn alongside fellow students make it a special place.
