Fee and enjoy a game on our beautiful greens. We welcome players of all ages and skill levels, whether you're an experienced bowler or have never held a bowl before. Our club is a place where you can meet new friends, have some gentle exercise, and most importantly, have fun.
Royal Sovereign Bowls Club is located in Princes Park, Eastbourne, just opposite the Princes Park Car Park and Fort Fun. The club was formed in 2006 through a merger with Royal Parade, Princess Park, and Redoubt Bowling Clubs. We take pride in our affiliation with SCB, Bowls England, and SCWB, and maintain a high level of professionalism and sportsmanship.
Our club features a flat outdoor lawn with one green consisting of six rinks. We have a brick-built clubhouse with a glass frontage, allowing spectators to have a clear view of the games. Inside, we have separate changing rooms for both ladies and gentlemen. Our recently refurbished licenced bar offers a variety of beverages at competitive prices, including beer, wine, spirits, and soft drinks.
Throughout the season, our bowling rinks are open daily for practises and matches. We provide bowls equipment for hire at a small fee, making it accessible to everyone. We frequently host touring teams and local teams for matches, and we always look forward to welcoming back familiar faces while also embracing new visitors.
League games are a crucial part of our club's activities. Our gentlemen's league games are played on Tuesday evenings, both at home and away, while our ladies' league games take place on Wednesday mornings. We strive to create an informal and friendly atmosphere while maintaining the traditional etiquette of the sport, ensuring that everyone can fully enjoy the game.
In addition to official league matches, we also have informal games known as “roll ups” during the playing season. These games do not require formal dress, apart from flat soled shoes, and take place in the mornings from 9:30 am to about 12:15 pm. During these times, our kitchen is available for members to make their tea and coffee.
At Royal Sovereign Bowls Club, we understand the importance of accessibility. Our outdoor green has benches placed around for spectators to sit and enjoy the games in fine weather. We have a ramp for wheelchair users to access the clubhouse during inclement weather or to simply relax with a cup of tea or coffee.
Even if you're not a member, you can still join us for a game and some fun through our Pay As You Play option. Simply turn up, pay a small fee, and enjoy a fantastic game on our beautiful greens. We also offer three free “taster” sessions with tuition for new bowlers who would like to give the sport a try.
If you're interested in booking a match for your club or joining us for a game with friends and family, all the necessary details can be found on our contacts page. We look forward to welcoming you to Royal Sovereign Bowls Club, where friendship, camaraderie, and a love for the sport thrive.
