The Royal Queensland Aero Club (RQAC) is Australia's oldest aero club and the oldest in the Southern Hemisphere. Established in 1910, the club has been supporting both private and commercial pilots for over a century. With a passion for aviation at its core, RQAC offers a range of social events, flying competitions, and partnerships with local businesses.
Located at Building 16 Qantas Avenue, Archerfield Airport, near the main terminal, the RQAC clubhouse serves as a hub for regular club events. Whether you're a seasoned pilot or someone who simply admires aviation, everyone is welcome to join the club. Membership information, details about our aircraft, and the committee can all be found conveniently on our website.
For RQAC members who are suitably endorsed, the club offers the opportunity to fly the Piper Super Cub VH-PYK at a very affordable rate of $250/hour. If you're not endorsed, this presents an excellent chance to obtain your Tailwheel endorsement. Bookings for the Piper Super Cub can be made by contacting Ian Tait at iant@aviationinsurance. com.

RQAC regularly organises special events for its members and guests, such as the upcoming Grand Opening of the new RQAC Club House at Archerfield Airport. This exciting event will also include the club's Christmas festivities, making it a perfect opportunity to celebrate and connect with fellow aviation enthusiasts. More details about this event can be found on our website.
The Royal Queensland Aero Club takes pride in supporting and promoting flying as a sport accessible to all. To continue our century-long heritage, we rely on the generosity of donations. Consider making a tax-deductible donation to help support the club and ensure the legacy of the RQAC remains strong.
Whether you're looking to start your aviation journey or simply want to meet like-minded individuals who share your love of flying, joining RQAC is the perfect choice.
