RavensWall Climbing Centre, a well-known Indoor Climbing club in London, is excited to invite all climbing enthusiasts to an upcoming event that promises to be both informative and thrilling. This event is designed to introduce participants to the fascinating world of route setting through 1-day taster courses.
Led by an experienced instructor, these courses will provide a comprehensive introduction to route setting. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of this art form, which includes the selection of holds and volumes, as well as how to attach them to the wall. Throughout the day, attendees will be able to craft their own blocs, which will be prominently displayed on the climbing wall for an entire week.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of this event is the collaborative nature of the process. Participants will have the chance to work alongside fellow climbers, testing and tweaking their creations until the final climbs are perfected. It truly is a unique experience that offers a fresh perspective on the physical and mental challenges of route setting.
The courses will be held at various locations in London, including BethWall, CanaryWall, CroyWall, HarroWall, and of course, RavensWall. Whether you're a seasoned climber or relatively new to the sport, these taster courses are suitable for all skill levels. While previous route setting experience is not necessary, we do recommend having at least 6 months of climbing experience and the ability to climb V2.
To ensure a safe and comfortable experience, appropriate clothing and footwear should be worn by all participants. Additionally, please note that the courses are exclusively for those aged 18 years and above.
