Am passionate about providing a safe and enjoyable environment for children to learn how to swim. I have always loved the water and believe that swimming is a vital life skill that everyone should have.

At Roundhay Swim, we have a small, warm pool that creates a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. Our aim is to make learning to swim a fun and stress-free experience for all. We offer a range of programmes, starting with our baby programme called Nippers, which introduces infants to the water and helps them develop water confidence from an early age.

As children progress, we offer a Toddler programme that is filled with lively classes, songs, games, and rhymes to keep them engaged and entertained. Our classes are kept small to ensure that each child receives individual attention from our fantastic teachers. Safety around water is a crucial aspect of our curriculum, and we teach children about water safety from the very beginning.

Throughout our programmes, we use a gentle approach that emphasises the child's pace and comfort level. We use various flotation aides such as floats, woggles, and swim fins to assist children as they develop their swimming skills. Additionally, we are fortunate to have a flow machine in our pool, which helps older children perfect their floating, turning, and swimming strokes.

Our Toddler programme consists of six terms, and at the end of each term, children receive a badge to commemorate their progress. Once children complete the Toddler programme, they can progress to our private 1:1 or 2:1 classes, where the focus is on improving stroke technique, strength, and stamina. We follow the nationally recognised STA Stanley Starfish programme at this stage.

The teachers at Roundhay Swim are all STA qualified to the highest standards and undergo regular professional development and training to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the swimming industry. We pride ourselves on being inclusive and welcoming to all children and families.
