Ventus Sailing is excited to announce the upcoming Round the Island Race, a thrilling one-day yacht race around the Isle of Wight that draws in over 1,400 boats and 15,000 sailors from all around. This event, known as one of the largest yacht races globally, is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced sailors and newcomers to the sport to compete alongside each other in a grand event.
The race kicks off with a practice day on Friday, where participants sail from Hamble to Cowes and enjoy the Race Village with live music and delicious food options. Saturday is the official Race Day, starting with the exciting sight of numerous yachts getting ready at the start line. The course takes sailors from Cowes and around the Isle of Wight, passing iconic landmarks like Hurst Point and the Needles Lighthouse.
After a day of challenging yet rewarding racing, participants head back to Cowes for well-deserved refreshments and live music at the Race Village. Sunday wraps up the event with a leisurely breakfast and return sail from Cowes to Hamble.
