Rotary Dorset Bike Ride

Rotary Dorset Bike Ride is a corporate office and cycling club located in Wareham, New Zealand. The club organises an annual charity sportive bike ride event in support of Cancer Research UK. The upcoming event will take place on Sunday, 8th October 2023.

In 2023, the event will be held at Longthorns Campsite, which has been confirmed as the venue once again. The club welcomes both previous participants and new riders to register for the ride, promising a fun-filled experience.

The Rotary Dorset Bike Ride is known for its friendly volunteer marshals and their warm welcome. The event aims to raise much-needed funds for Cancer Research UK to support vital research in cancer treatment and care. While sponsorships raised for CRUK are greatly appreciated, the club also encourages riders to raise funds for other cancer charities if they desire.

The event offers five different routes of varying lengths, catering to amateur and serious cyclists, as well as families. The routes range from 22 miles to a more challenging 108-mile ride. Registration fees for the event start from 30. 00 for online registrations in advance.

Additionally, children under 16 can register for free for all routes, but they must be accompanied by a fee-paying adult responsible for their safety during the ride.

Participants are encouraged to make donations to CRUK during registration, in addition to seeking sponsorships. Additionally, those who wish to volunteer and support the event can sign up online to become part of the volunteer reserves.

There is also a special offer for 2023, where groups of ten riders can register for the 22 and 35-mile routes at a discounted rate of 250.
