Rogue Jiu Jitsu, formerly known as BJJ Hertfordshire, offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training in the Hoddesdon area. They cater to beginners, intermediates, and advanced practitioners of all ages. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or BJJ, is a grappling-based martial art that focuses on controlling and submitting opponents using joint locks and strangle holds. It is often referred to as a physical language, where practitioners become more fluent and skilled in their ability to control and submit opponents regardless of size or strength.
Rogue Jiu Jitsu is affiliated with Mauricio Gomes, an 8th-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Coral Belt Master. Head Instructor Reece Foy has dedicated many years to the study and practise of martial arts. He has found BJJ to be the most captivating and has dedicated himself to refining and improving his proficiency both as an instructor and as a lifelong student. Under the mentorship of BJJ legend Mauricio Gomes, Reece aims to teach a style of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that emphasises self-defence and high standards in the competitive sport of BJJ.
The club also boasts a selection of high-ranking instructors specialising in foot locks, fundamentals, and conditioning.
BJJ is suitable for everyone, regardless of their goals. It is designed to enable a smaller, weaker person to overcome a bigger, stronger opponent, making it suitable for all ages and abilities. Rogue Jiu Jitsu believes that BJJ is for everyone and highlights six reasons why everyone should train BJJ: fitness, discipline and confidence, health and wellbeing, team spirit, self-defence, and competition.
Testimonials from satisfied students highlight the positive impact of training at Rogue Jiu Jitsu, with increased self-confidence and reduced anxiety being common benefits. The club offers a diverse timetable with classes for adults, kids aged 4-7, kids aged 8-12, and beginners. They also offer private lessons for students looking to refine their technique or gain a deeper understanding of BJJ.
Pricing options include a free first class for everyone, as well as session-based and unlimited memberships for different age groups. Private lessons are also available for individuals or groups of up to two people.
