The academy is conveniently located at the first floor of Unit 12, Hamilton Business Park, Stirling Way, Borehamwood. It can be easily accessed from various areas in South Hertfordshire.
RGA South Herts boasts a team of highly qualified and experienced instructors. All instructors are registered and insured with the UK Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association (UKBJJA). The instructors' credentials, including instructor insurance, DBS checks, safeguarding certifications, first aid, and referee certifications, are available on the club member platform.
Head Coach Sandeep Bermi is a first-degree black belt under Roger Gracie and Kev Capel. With a background in Chinese martial arts and western kickboxing, Sandeep transitioned to MMA, freestyle, and submission wrestling in 1999 at London Shootfighters. He formally started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training in 2010 at the Roger Gracie Academy and was awarded his black belt in 2019. Sandeep is known for his fierce competitiveness and holds several national titles.
His main focus now is passing on the values of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to the members of RGA South Herts, emphasising respect, work ethic, courage, and technique. Sandeep is a member of the UKBJJA, is trained in child safeguarding and first aid, and has obtained his DBS check.
Another esteemed instructor at RGA South Herts is Seymour Yang, a second-degree black belt. Seymour began his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey in 2003 and was awarded his black belt in 2015 by his instructor Nick Brooks and Mauricio Gomes. He is an active member of the UKBJJA, has undergone DBS checks, and holds first aid certifications.
In addition to regular classes, RGA South Herts frequently hosts visiting teachers and competitors for seminars, providing students with even more learning opportunities and exposure to different styles and techniques.
