Rocky Hills Ranch

Rocky Hills Ranch is a horse riding school located in Okotoks, just a short drive from Calgary, offering western riding lessons and horse boarding. The ranch prides itself on providing a friendly and safe environment for all horse lovers, whether they are experienced riders or beginners looking to learn.

Owned and operated by the passionate horse enthusiast, Stacey, who has been involved in equestrian events since a young age. Stacey holds a diploma in Animal Health Technology and is a certified instructor of beginner riders. Her goal of owning and operating an equestrian facility focusing on beginner lessons has been achieved at Rocky Hills Ranch.

Assisting Stacey is her husband, Dusty, who grew up on a farm near Didsbury and competed professionally in rodeo in bareback riding. Dusty now ensures the ranch is in order and safe for both people and horses. He is known for his creativity in finding new ways to keep the ranch running smoothly and is always ready to lend a helping hand.

The ranch offers western riding lessons for beginners to intermediate level riders. With experienced and disciplined lesson horses, riders can learn and bond with these professionals. Additionally, riders are welcome to bring their own horses to learn alongside. The Spring 2024 schedule includes a new Introduction Lesson on April 13th, designed for all new riders or those needing to refresh their basic safety and ground skills.

At Rocky Hills Ranch, riders can expect to learn barn safety and etiquette, how to properly catch and tie a horse, grooming techniques, tacking up a horse correctly, and more. The focus of the lessons is to ensure that riders not only learn how to ride, but also develop a love for horses and equitation skills.
