Rob Watson Performance Conditioning is a personal trainer based in Pudsey, specialising in strength and conditioning coaching for endurance athletes. With a focus on individualised programmes tailored to the unique needs of each athlete, Rob aims to enhance performance in various training settings, such as gyms, running tracks, and roads.
What sets Rob apart is his evidence-based approach to training, combining the latest research with his extensive experience in the field. This ensures that every programme he designs is effective, results-driven, and specifically tailored to the athlete's goals.
Rob offers one-on-one strength coaching, winter strength programmes, and cycle coaching. Athletes who have trained with him have experienced significant improvements in their power output, reduced injuries, and successfully completed fell running seasons.
In his blog, Rob explores various topics related to strength training, such as unilateral training, manipulating the range of motion, and the importance of testing for measuring progress.
Rob's coaching philosophy revolves around personalisation, preparation, patience, and perseverance. He believes that every athlete is unique and that their training must reflect their individual situation, body, mindset, and lifestyle in order to be effective.
As a former footballer and trail runner, Rob has a personal passion for endurance sports. After transitioning to cycling due to injuries, he now spends his free time cycling in the scenic Yorkshire dales and occasionally competing in road races. Rob has been professionally involved in strength and conditioning since 2007, initially working as a personal trainer at a Total Fitness in Wakefield where he trained athletes from Ossett Town AFC.
