RN South Coast Archers is an archery club based in Gosport, New Zealand. Established in 2001 as Solent Archers at HMS Collingwood, the club initially catered to Navy personnel. Over time, the club expanded its membership and changed its name to Solent & RN Archers. In 2010, the club rebranded as RN South Coast Archers and relocated to H.
M. S Sultan in 2014.
Starting with just four adults and nine juniors, the club has grown to include over 150 adult, junior, and disability archers. RN South Coast Archers is proud to have three of its members shoot for the GB Team, with hopes of more to come. The club is thriving and continues to attract new members.
A noteworthy mention goes to Cams Hill School, which has provided the club with equipment. This winter, the club will be shooting at Cams Hill School on Saturday evenings, thanks to this generous support.
RN South Coast Archers offers beginner courses twice a year, usually in January and June. These courses span five weeks and cost 60. All necessary equipment is provided, giving participants the opportunity to try archery without joining a club or purchasing their own gear. Upon completion of the course, participants are eligible to join the club and receive further coaching for skill development.
The courses are open to anyone aged six and above, with the requirement for children under 12 to be accompanied by a parent at all times.
Members of RN South Coast Archers have access to shoot on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the summer outside on the polo field from 18:00 until 21:00. In the winter, shooting takes place in the Dolphin Hanger from 18:00. Additionally, members can shoot on Saturdays at Cams Hill School. Shooting is also available on Sundays during the summer outside on the polo field from 10:00 to 12:00, and in the Dolphin Hanger from 10:00 in the winter.
Membership to the club is valid from July to July, with the annual fee being 120 for adults and juniors. Payment can be made via monthly standing order of 10. Families can receive a 10% discount if multiple members pay from the same account. Additionally, members are required to pay membership fees to Archery GB, Southern Counties, and Hampshire, which must be paid in September to start in October.
