Recently, the academy hosted its first training camp of the year, which turned out to be a great success. The camp took place at a venue that, though lacking in facilities, provided excellent training and camping areas. Peter and Danielle, the managers of the venue, were fantastic and made everyone feel welcome. The weather during the training sessions was favourable, with rain only occurring at night. Additionally, the academy showed support to a nearby pub where the camp took place, which may unfortunately be closing soon. However, if the pub remains open, the academy looks forward to returning next year. The next training camp is scheduled for the Bank Holiday weekend in August, specifically from the 26th to the 28th, at the usual venue in North Yorks.
The academy's next training day is on Sunday, July 3rd, at the usual venue in Nostell, Wakefield. Interested players can seek more information from their Sifu or ask for guidance from Simo. It's important to notify the academy as soon as possible if anyone requires a lift, as lifts are usually available for those in need.
Furthermore, the academy has planned a training afternoon on Sunday, May 15th, at the usual venue in Nostell. The session will run from 1pm to 5pm, and it's significant to note that the timing differs from what may have been stated on your diary dates (4pm). If any player requires a lift, it's advised to inform their Sifu promptly. Additionally, the academy offers a pay-as-you-go Bar-b-Que for lunch during the training afternoon. This BBQ lunch includes a drink at a reasonable rate.
Unfortunately, there has been a change of date for the August training camp due to circumstances beyond the academy's control. Interested players are requested to obtain a flyer from their Sifu, which contains the relevant information, and fill it out as soon as possible to formalise the new dates.
Lastly, The Ridings Wing Chun Kung Fu Academy would like to remind players that the Monday classes in Leeds and Haxby will be closed for the bank holidays. Additionally, the York class will be closed on Easter Tuesday, April 26th. However, the Doncaster class on Thursdays will remain open as usual. Sifu Nigel will be more than happy to welcome players who wish to continue their training during these holiday periods.
