About
Rhythms Aesthetic Society is a renowned performing arts group and dance school based in Singapore, dedicated to touching the lives of the young through the arts. Established in 2003 and officially registered with the Registrar of Societies in 2005, Rhythms is recognised and supported by the National Arts Council of Singapore.
At Rhythms, we provide a holistic education in arts, focusing on Bharatanatyam, Carnatic vocal and instrumental music, Hindustani percussion, visual arts, traditional crafts, textual heritage, aesthetics, and culture. Our vision is to create a confident community of future generations who possess a love for lifelong learning of the fine arts through experience and exposure.
Our mission is to equip our community with confidence in the presentation of their skills in the fine arts, creating a community with a passion for the arts and life. We value the diversity of cultural expressions and traditions and strive to foster the preservation, advancement, and enhancement of the arts.
Rhythms aims to develop young aspiring talents to reach international performance standards. We are the first in Singapore to establish centres in the heartlands, reaching out to residents in housing estates. From our humble beginnings with just four members in Sembawang Estate, we have grown steadily and now have over 500 members, conducting activities and classes in Yishun and Serangoon North.
