Rhapsody School of Ballet

Rhapsody School of Ballet is a dance school located in the heart of Wyndham Vale, offering high-quality ballet training to children and adults. The school follows the Cecchetti method of ballet and also provides opportunities for examinations and performances.

The word “rhapsody” perfectly captures the essence of dance at Rhapsody School of Ballet. It represents an effusively enthusiastic or ecstatic expression of feeling. The school believes that dance should be a joyful and liberating form of self-expression that goes beyond words.

For children aged 4 years and older, Rhapsody School of Ballet offers ballet classes following the Cecchetti method. The school also provides opportunities for students to participate in Cecchetti Ballet Examinations. In addition, the school offers adult ballet classes for beginners and experienced dancers, as well as adult stretch classes that are suitable for all bodies.

Conveniently located in Wyndham Vale with easy off-street parking, the school is nestled between a football oval and a playground, making it a local and accessible choice for dance education. In addition to ballet classes, the school offers jazz classes and Classical Performance Fusion (CPF) classes. It is important to note that students must participate in at least one ballet class per week in order to also participate in jazz and/or CPF classes. CPF is a class that focuses on the artistic expression of ballet and incorporates elements of lyrical, contemporary, and neoclassical dance.

Enrolments for 2023 have closed, but the school is already looking forward to welcoming new students in 2024. The first term of 2024 will begin on Monday, January 29th.

One of the highlights of Rhapsody School of Ballet is its annual end-of-year performance. This year, the school will be telling the story of the adventures of Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, The Darlings, and Captain Hook. Tickets for this exciting performance will go on sale on Friday, November 10th.

Rhapsody School of Ballet takes pride in its commitment to providing high-quality ballet and dance training to the people of Wyndham. The school's founder and Principal, Miss Cristelle, saw a gap in the Cecchetti Ballet industry in Melbourne's West and decided to establish the school in January 2019. As a passionate and experienced ballet teacher, she believed it was time to open her own school that aligned with her morals and standards.

The school's mission is to teach dance in a safe and healthy way, both for the body and mind, while keeping fees at a reasonable rate. Rhapsody School of Ballet is dedicated to making ballet accessible to everyone. The school maintains small class sizes to ensure individual attention and high-quality instruction for each student.

In addition to ballet classes, the school offers jazz and lyrical/contemporary classes for children aged 4 years and older. For adults, there are stretch classes available. The school strongly believes in promoting positive body image, safe dance practise, and quality over quantity. It strives to create a community feel, where students feel welcome and included.
