Reigate Grammar School Swimming Pool, located in Reigate, is a popular and successful facility that has been serving the school community since January 2009. The indoor pool offers students the opportunity to swim every day, with a large number attending early morning squad training sessions. The popularity of swimming at RGS has grown steadily over the years due to the hard work of both students and coaches.
The school currently runs U12-U18 boys' and girls' teams during the autumn and spring terms, allowing students to compete in regular galas and county competitions. The culture and success of swimming at RGS continues to grow, with the school consistently achieving top 6 finishes in the Surrey Schools Relay Championships and winning numerous district events. Students have also had the opportunity to participate in the Individual County Championships, friendly galas, and the Rotary Club Swimarathon. Recently, the Under 18 squads were invited to swim in the prestigious Bath Cup at the Olympic Pool for the first time, and several swimmers have reached the National Biathlon Finals.
Swimming is not only offered as part of the curriculum PE lessons for students in the First to Fifth Form, but it is also available as a games option for Fourth to Sixth Form students. In addition to the curriculum swimming, the school runs six extracurricular swim sessions each week to cater to the growing interest and demand.
