Regents Canoe Club

Welcome to Regents Canoe Club, a kayak, and canoe club located in Islington, North London. Regents is a vibrant and welcoming club for adults in Islington, London. The club offers beginner's courses and organises regular trips to both white water rivers and calm flat water locations.

Club members gather for weekly sessions on Monday and Thursday nights, paddling in Islington Basin and along Regents Canal. Additionally, the club arranges monthly white water kayaking trips during the autumn and winter seasons. There are also fortnightly pool sessions at the Britannia Leisure Centre and various social club activities.

If you're interested in joining, Regents Canoe Club is currently accepting new members. The club holds New Members' Evenings on the canal, but due to limited space, new members need to pre-register for these sessions. Club nights are held on Mondays from 6:30pm to 8:30pm and on Thursdays from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at City Road Basin of the Regents Canal at Graham Street. The club does not operate on bank holidays.

Regents Canoe Club also offers Introduction to White Water Kayaking courses designed for adults who have little or no previous kayaking experience but are interested in learning to kayak on moving water.

The club provides boats, paddles, and buoyancy aids for use during club nights. However, as the canal site is currently undergoing renovation work, changing rooms and hot showers are temporarily unavailable. Members have free access to all equipment and facilities during club nights and are also able to rent equipment for use outside of club hours.

Visitors who are non-members can visit the club on New Members' Evenings or as guests during a canal session. It's important to note that New Members' Evenings are the only way to join the club, unless you complete an Introduction course.

While Regents Canoe Club is exclusively for adults over the age of 18, children and teenagers interested in kayaking can contact Islington Boat Club, which is based at the same address as Regents. Other options for young paddlers include the nearby Pirate Castle and Westminster Boating Base in west London.
