Re:Form – Your Body is a unique and boutique exercise and bodywork studio located in Dulwich Hill, Sydney's inner west. The studio is set in a tranquil and private garden setting, providing a serene environment for clients. If you have been experiencing long-term pain, recurring injuries, or struggling with traditional exercise classes, Re:Form – Your Body is the perfect studio for you.
At Re:Form – Your Body, the exercise sessions are tailored to your body and can be delivered either in private sessions or in small groups of up to three people. The studio focuses on stretching, strengthening, and balancing the body in a non-competitive exercise environment. The exercise programmes incorporate pilates-based core conditioning exercises, foam rollers, swiss balls, and other equipment to provide a comprehensive and effective workout.
One of the unique aspects of Re:Form – Your Body is the combination of manual therapy called Structural Bodywork and movement therapy. The studio aims to help clients improve their posture, enhance ease and efficiency of movement, reduce pain, manage stress, and improve overall well-being. Regardless of your age or fitness background, Re:Form – Your Body welcomes everyone and strives to deliver tailored exercise programmes that improve mobility and reduce pain.
Re:Form – Your Body is founded and operated by Gina Richter, a certified Pilates instructor and certified Structural Bodyworker. Gina brings over 25 years of experience in movement, exercise, and injury rehabilitation to the studio. As a certified myofascial bodyworker through Thomas Myers' Kinesis Myofascial Integration training programme, Gina utilises targeted deep tissue manual therapy in combination with stretching and strengthening exercises in her private rehabilitation sessions, specifically designed for individuals with serious pain or injury.
Gina's passion for movement began when she studied dance as a child, and she later pursued Iyengar yoga and became one of the first certified Iyengar yoga teachers in Australia. She then discovered the Pilates Method of Body Conditioning and studied it in Sydney with Cynthia Lochard, a former New York City Ballet dancer, and in New York with Romana Kryzanowska, one of Joseph Pilates' original proteges. Gina attained her US certification in 1998 and subsequently established Powerhouse Pilates studio, where she served as director for 17 years. Additionally, Gina studied injury rehabilitation and core conditioning with American exercise therapist Paul Chek, becoming a Level 1 Chek Practitioner.
With her extensive experience and expertise, Gina is able to offer a unique combination of movement and manual therapy to her clients, ensuring optimal healing, improved movement and posture, and overall well-being.
