Judo, founded in 1882 in Japan by Jigoro Kano, has evolved from a martial art to a sport over the years. It has been an Olympic sport for men since 1964 and for women since 1992, showcasing the growth and popularity of judo worldwide. The Red and White Judo tournament, initiated by Jigoro Kano in 1884, remains one of the oldest continuously running sports events in the world.
At the Red Deer Judo Club, students have the opportunity to learn from experienced Senseis and train in a dedicated dojo. Our Senseis are highly trained judo experts who are committed to imparting their knowledge and skills to students of all levels. The club is located at 87 Petrolia Drive in Red Deer County, Alberta.
