Just wanted to pass on a note from your organiser, Alex, who’s buzzing with excitement about what’s happening at Razzamataz Medway. This top-notch drama and ballet school in Gillingham is all about offering brilliant performing arts education to kids and young adults from 2 to 18.
Since they kicked off in September 2010, Alex and the team have scooped up a bunch of awards – “Franchise of the Year” three times, “Most Outstanding School,” and “Brand Ambassadors of the Year.” It’s a shout-out to the hard work, passion, and dedication everyone at Razzamataz shows every single day.
Their students aren’t too shabby either. They’ve nabbed titles like Jack Petchey’s UK Glee Club Champions and won the National Kent and Vocal Dance Challenge. Plus, they’ve even had their songs judged by West End star Louise Dearman.
Regular performances keep students in the limelight, whether it’s at local spots like The Brook Theatre or on bigger stages like Her Majesty’s Theatre and even Disneyland Paris. Some have gone on to top training programmes at Sylvia Young, The Brit School, and Bird College, and a few have appeared on kids' TV shows like CBeebies’ “Let’s Play” and CiTV’s “Scrambled.”
Alex has also been pulling in guest performers from the industry, offering students the chance to learn from folks like One Direction choreographer James Robinson and Nickelodeon Junior pop group “Go! Go!” It’s an incredible opportunity to get inspired by pros from shows like “Les Misérables” and “Grease.”
The vibe at Razzamataz Medway is all about having fun, growing personally and artistically, and getting stuck into the performing arts scene. Alongside regular classes, there are Arts Award programmes, the Razzamataz Future Fund, and annual award ceremonies to keep things exciting.
