The Rampion Offshore Wind Farm is the south coast's first offshore wind farm. With 116 wind turbines and an installed capacity of 400 megawatts, it generates 1,400 gigawatt hours of green power each year, reducing CO2 emissions by nearly 600,000 tonnes. The wind farm covers 70 square kilometres in the English Channel, located between 13 and 20 kilometres off the Sussex coast. When complete in 2018, it will create around 60 full-time permanent jobs and act as a catalyst for the regeneration of Newhaven Port.
