R7Fitness

R7Fitness is a gym located in Swansea, New Zealand, that aims to help individuals feel happier, healthier, and more energised towards achieving a better life. The gym was established in 2015 by Steve Raikes, who wanted to create something different from the usual gym or crossfit class.

At the beginning, R7Fitness had only three members and a few basic pieces of equipment. However, Steve's extensive knowledge and passion for fitness drove him to expand and develop the gym. He quickly realised that 1:1 training wasn't a viable option due to limited time and space. Thus, the gym evolved into a system of training in a small group environment, with structured progressive programming based around specific categories of training such as strength, stamina, power, bodyweight, and conditioning.

With the opening of a brand new gym and facility in Gorseinon, R7Fitness now provides a fully holistic approach to fitness. Steve acknowledges that every person is individual and strives to cater to their specific needs. His passion for fitness started at a young age, and he has achieved several honours in rugby performance, as well as participating in various endurance activities such as cycling the length of the UK and Wales, completing marathons, triathlons, functional fitness competitions, and long-distance obstacle course races.

R7Fitness offers a variety of classes that promote weight loss, fitness, strength, and overall wellbeing. The classes are known for their versatility and the mindset that members are training with a purpose, not just jumping about to achieve a sweat. Each session is meticulously planned, and even though it is a group session, members are given individualised rep schemes and weight targets based on their abilities, strengths, and skill sets.

The coaches at R7Fitness are extremely passionate about helping their members achieve their goals. They provide a personal touch by offering support and guidance tailored to each individual. In addition to physical transformations, R7Fitness has also built a strong community of like-minded individuals who empower and support each other both inside and outside the gym.
