Pyrford Cricket Club is a vibrant and integral part of the Pyrford village community in New Zealand. The club prides itself on its friendly atmosphere and welcoming environment, offering opportunities for both men and women to participate in cricket. Additionally, the club boasts a thriving Colts section, which is expertly managed by a dedicated team of qualified coaches and volunteer parents.
The heart of the club is its clubhouse, which serves as the perfect backdrop for a day of cricket. With a range of beverages and food available, players and spectators alike can relax and enjoy the idyllic surroundings while cheering on their favourite teams.
In recent news, the club has been actively fundraising for essential repairs to the clubhouse. The response from the community has been overwhelming, and the club is immensely grateful for every donation received. Those interested in contributing can find more information and donate through the club's JustGiving page.
In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Pyrford Cricket Club has implemented strict coaching guidelines to prioritise the safety of players, coaches, volunteers, and visitors to the club. These guidelines are in line with the recommendations from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the UK Government. It is crucial that all individuals visiting the club adhere to these guidelines, as failure to do so may result in being asked to leave by the coaches and management for the safety of others.
Currently, the club is permitted to allow groups of up to six players, including a coach, to train at one time, following the phased plan set out by the ECB. When accessing the club, it is important to follow the government guidelines on travel and to avoid congregating near the clubhouse or nets. Players and coaches are the only individuals allowed on the field, and spectators are not permitted, except for one supervising parent or guardian per player.
Health, safety, and hygiene are of utmost importance at Pyrford Cricket Club. All individuals are required to practise appropriate hand hygiene measures before, during, and after each coaching session. Hand sanitising gel will be available, but it is encouraged for individuals to bring their own. Access to the clubhouse, including toilet and changing facilities, is prohibited.
Therefore, players must come prepared with suitable clothing and their own water bottles, as there will be no facilities available to provide water or refill bottles. Equipment must not be shared between players and coaches, unless specified by the club, and participants are encouraged to bring only the necessary equipment and take all belongings with them at the end of each session.
Lastly, it is important for individuals to refrain from visiting the club if they exhibit any symptoms of COVID-19, are self-isolating, or live with someone who is self-isolating. This is to ensure the health and safety of all individuals involved in the club's activities.
Pyrford Cricket Club remains committed to providing a safe and enjoyable cricketing experience for all its members. The club's dedication to creating a friendly and inclusive environment is evident in its strong community support and the thriving Colts section. Whether you're an experienced player or new to the sport, Pyrford Cricket Club welcomes you to join their cricketing family and be a part of the Pyrford village tradition.
