About

Join Trans Wales Trails Horse Riding for an unforgettable horse-riding adventure in the stunning Brecon Beacons. Explore the hills on the back of a beautiful Welsh Section D cob and immerse yourself in the beauty of the countryside.

Our day starts at the yard, where all riders get involved in grooming and tacking up the horses. Don't worry if you're new to this – we'll provide plenty of help and show you the ropes. Once everyone is ready, we hit the trail around mid-morning.

Get ready for relaxed riding through enchanting woods, charming country lanes, ancient drover tracks, and scenic bridle-paths. We'll treat you to long canters and thrilling gallops across the open commons of Pengenfford and Talgarth, allowing you to experience the exhilaration of riding freely in nature. If the weather is in our favour, we might even venture high up into the mountains for breathtaking views!

After working up an appetite, we take a well-deserved break for lunch. You have the choice of enjoying a delicious meal at a cosy pub, finding a picturesque picnic spot for sandwiches and chips, or relaxing at a delightful café by a lake or beside a newly-restored working mill in the village. Don't worry, lunch is included in the price.

Once we've refueled, we embark on another couple of hours of riding in the afternoon, soaking up the scenic beauty around us. By around 4pm, we make our way back to the yard. After taking care of our horses and giving them some TLC, we gather at the farmhouse for a cup of tea and a slice of cake. It's the perfect opportunity to unwind and share stories of our day's adventures with the group.

Please make sure to come dressed in comfortable jodhpurs and boots. Don't forget to bring your hat and body protector, if you wish to wear them. British weather can be unpredictable, so carrying a long coat or raincoat is a good idea just in case. And remember to bring some change for drinks at the pub!

While we welcome competent children aged 12 and above, it might be more suitable for family groups to consider a private ride for a more personalised experience.

So, come and join Trans Wales Trails Horse Riding for an incredible day of horse riding in the Brecon Beacons. It's an experience you won't want to miss!
