Private Physiotherapy & Pilates, located within Margate Football Club, is a physiotherapy studio owned and operated by Maria Westlake. Maria is a highly qualified physiotherapist, graduating from St George's Hospital University of London in 2014. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a member of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP).
With years of experience in both the NHS and private hospital settings, Maria offers expertise in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy. Her services encompass a wide range of conditions, including neck and lower back pain, general spinal problems, shoulder/elbow/wrist pain, hip/knee/ankle/foot pain, pre and post orthopaedic surgery rehabilitation, general muscular aches and pains, ligament and tendon complaints, and balance and mobility problems.
As part of her commitment to continual professional development, Maria has completed additional courses and qualifications to enhance her practise. She holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports and Exercise Science, as well as certifications in Sports Massage Therapy, Kinesiology taping, Taping & strapping, and APPI Matwork Pilates Instruction.
In addition to physiotherapy, Private Physiotherapy & Pilates also offers tailored Pilates classes led by Maria, who is an APPI certified Matwork Pilates Instructor. These classes provide a holistic approach to rehabilitation and exercise, focusing on core strength, flexibility, and body alignment.
Private Physiotherapy & Pilates strives to provide personalised care to each client. During your initial physiotherapy assessment, Maria will conduct a thorough evaluation of your condition, provide a diagnosis, and develop a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. She will also prescribe a customised home exercise programme to facilitate pain relief and recovery.
For ongoing care, follow-up physiotherapy appointments are available to continue treatment and monitor progress. These sessions will also include a review and adjustment of the home exercise programme to ensure optimal recovery and function.
For those who are unable to visit the studio, Private Physiotherapy & Pilates offers home visit assessments for individuals who are housebound or have difficulty leaving their homes. These visits are particularly beneficial for assessing mobility, balance, falls prevention, or general muscle strengthening.
To enhance accessibility and convenience, Private Physiotherapy & Pilates also offers telephone, FaceTime, or Zoom consultations for subjective assessments of complaints. These consultations allow for a comprehensive understanding of your condition and facilitate guidance and advice remotely.
The studio's opening hours are flexible to accommodate everyone's schedules. General hours are listed as Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 9:00 pm, and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
