Northern Conquest Charters, a fishing club in Railway Estate, is excited to promote the upcoming event hosted by Princess Charlotte Bay Expeditions. This event offers an unparalleled fishing experience in one of Australia's most diverse fishing regions. Located just 125 nautical miles from Cooktown, Princess Charlotte Bay boasts pristine river systems, headlands, islands, reef, and shelf options, all teeming with a wide variety of iconic Australian sportsfish.
If fishing in this incredible location has always been on your bucket list, or you've dreamt about it, now is the time to make it a reality. The adventures operate from February to May, with reef and shelf fishing opportunities available during these months, depending on weather conditions. Here are the trip dates:
- Headland and Islands: February and March
- Headland and Rivers: April and May
To ensure maximum fishing time on location and to cater to the needs of our guests, departures take place from Cooktown. Our vessels leave port in the afternoon, travel through the night, and arrive at Princess Charlotte Bay the following morning. For ease and convenience, we provide a mini bus and trailer service for passenger transfers from Cairns to Cooktown and back again. If you choose to fly from Cairns to Cooktown, we will reimburse the cost of this service.
During the trip, fishing is undertaken throughout the complete trip days, and departure occurs after the fishing on the last day has ceased. Our mixed reef and bay trips may even include nighttime fishing in the southern reef areas.
The mothership for these adventures is the San Miguel, a spacious 65' Conquest that can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests. With ample space for all your fishing gear, the vessel also includes fish processing capabilities, including freeze element storage freezers, ensuring your catch stays in top condition. Our dedicated crew will fillet, bag, label, and transfer your fish to the deep freeze, so you can enjoy it as fresh as the day you caught it. The San Miguel truly represents the pinnacle of reef fishing vessels in our fleet and is the jewel in our crown.
In addition to the mothership, we provide tenders and barramundi boats as part of our service. These range from the impressive 6-meter Goodwin and Southwind Centre Console to the versatile 5.3-meter Barra Punt. All of these vessels are excellent barramundi/sports fishing platforms and feature the latest side-scan fish finding technology. This cutting-edge sonar technology gives anglers a significant advantage, revealing fish hiding spots that were previously unknown.
To enhance your experience during the trip, we offer various inclusions. These include a complimentary bus service from Cairns to Cooktown and return, quality cooked meals on board, snacks, and hors d’oeuvres between meals, as well as non-alcoholic drinks such as soft drinks, juice, water, tea, and coffee. Linen and towels are also provided for your convenience. We supply trolling lures and terminal tackle for reef and shelf fishing, as well as prepared baits for the reef. Live baits are provided in the bay, while squid and pilchards are available for bottom fishing.
Please note that drinks are BYO, but if you prefer, we can have them ordered and delivered to the boat in Cooktown. Prices may be 15% above metropolitan prices due to the location. Rest assured, all meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, are included in the package.
