Preston Athletic Club prides itself on being a family club, welcoming individuals of all ages and skill levels. Whether you are a beginner or an elite athlete, there is a place for you at our club. We offer opportunities for both men and women in a range of divisions, from division 1 to division 3, and also have under 14, 16, and 18 categories. Even if you don't wish to compete, you can still join our cheering team and be part of the exciting atmosphere.
When you become a member of Preston Athletic Club, you gain access to expert coaching, all the equipment you need, and a supportive social atmosphere. All you require is a pair of running shoes and a desire to have fun and stay fit. Whether your goal is to become an Olympian or simply enjoy jogging with friends, our club can support you every step of the way.
Athletics is a fantastic way to exercise and have fun in a friendly and safe environment. There is something for everyone, from walking and running to jumping and throwing. Our competitions are team-based, with clubs competing for points each week. Whether you finish first or eighth, you will be helping your club to succeed.
In addition to training and competitions, Preston Athletic Club also organises a range of social activities throughout the year. From casual BBQs to club-based events like the Club Handicap and Presentation Night, there are plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow members and enjoy a sense of community. We encourage all members to get involved and contribute to the success of our club.
The history of Preston Athletic Club dates back to 1930 when it was known as the Preston Northcote Athletic Club. In 1962, the club relocated to its current home at Edwardes Lake Park. In 1957, the Preston – Reservoir Women’s Athletic Club was formed and eventually merged with the men's club in 1986. The club has a proud history, with many members representing Australia in Commonwealth and Olympic Games.
Not only has the club produced exceptional athletes, but it has also nurtured many prominent members of society.
