At Prestige Dance Academy, every child is given the opportunity to shine. The academy offers a wide range of dance styles including beautiful Ballet, funky Jazz, Tap Dance, and Musical Theatre. This ensures that every student can find their passion and express themselves through the art of dance.
Located in Hyde Park, the academy has two convenient studio locations: Hyde Park Studio at 316 Unley Road, Hyde Park, and Glenelg Studio at 39 Partridge Street, Glenelg. Both studios are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and provide a nurturing and supportive environment for students to learn and grow.
Prestige Dance Academy has a strong focus on student success and pathways. The academy has a wealth of experience in training students from the beginning RAD levels up to the final stages in Advanced 2 RAD Ballet. Many students have achieved great results and successfully attained acceptance into prestigious national courses such as The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAPPA), Ministry of Dance, AIT performing Arts, Queensland University of Technology, Victorian College of Arts, and the Australian Ballet Associate Programme. Prestige Dance Academy provides high-quality training and support for students who are serious about pursuing a career in dance.
The academy is led by Principal Melanie Panton, who has been with Prestige Dance Academy since its small beginnings in 1994. Melanie has devoted her entire career to teaching and mentoring students, ensuring that every student is encouraged to strive for their personal best and offering them every opportunity to achieve this. As an Internationally Qualified RAD Teacher, Melanie continues to further her passion and commitment to dance through continuous professional development and staying updated with changes and evolvements to the dance syllabuses.
Melanie's dedication to the dance community extends beyond Prestige Dance Academy. She has served as the Vice Chair Person and Chair Person for the Royal Academy of Dance South Australian Regional Advisory Panel. However, due to the growth and demands of Prestige Dance Academy, Melanie decided to focus completely on providing the best dance education and experiences for her students.
In addition to regular dance classes, Prestige Dance Academy also offers opportunities for students to participate in annual RAD Ballet examinations, graded and vocational graded examinations. The academy also choreographs and prepares dance teams for various corporate events and the Credit Union Christmas Pageant.
