Preseli Pony Trekking at Ashvale Holiday & Riding Stables is a horse riding school, holiday home, and pony ride service located in Clynderwen, New Zealand. Nestled in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, our facility offers a unique experience surrounded by the beautiful wild moorland, craggy peaks, and epic scenery of the Preseli Hills.
Our aim is to provide an unforgettable riding experience for riders of all ages and abilities. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced rider, we have something to offer you. Our fully licenced and insured Pony Trekking Centre offers a variety of escorted riding routes that traverse ancient tracks, open hills, and moorland. Along the way, you'll encounter stone circles, wild ponies, and majestic Birds of Prey.
Safety is our top priority, and we take extensive measures to ensure the well-being of both our riders and horses. Our experienced and knowledgeable staff will match you with an appropriate horse based on your skill level and provide you with the necessary riding equipment, including riding hats. All our ride leaders are level 3 First Aid trained and carry First Aid kits and mobile phones for emergencies.
For those new to horse riding, we offer a 1-hour Introduction to Riding Combo session. This session is designed for complete beginners, children, rusty riders, and those who may feel a bit nervous. We provide a short safety talk followed by ridden instruction on how to steer, stop, and control the horse. This session is educational, fun, and ensures that everyone feels comfortable and confident before embarking on their riding adventure.
In addition to our introductory session, we offer a range of treks that vary in duration, from 1 hour to a full day ride. Our half-day and full-day rides are suitable for more competent riders who have previous riding experience. These treks take you further into the stunning scenery of the Preseli Hills, where you can fully immerse yourself in the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
