At Essendon Keilor Gymnastics Academy, preschool gymnastics classes offer an exciting opportunity for parents and children to engage in activities that enhance the child's physical development. These classes are designed to promote motor skills and coordination through play and exploration.
During these classes, children will not only have a fantastic time playing and exploring, but they will also learn specialised gymnastics skills. These skills include forward rolls, swinging, jumping, landing, hanging, handstands, and cartwheels. By learning these fundamental gymnastics skills at such a young age, children can develop a solid foundation for their future in gymnastics.
Our preschool gymnastics program has different classes available based on the child's age. For 2 and 3-year-olds, we offer a parent-assisted class where parents can actively participate and support their child throughout the lesson. This class provides a nurturing environment for both parents and children to bond and learn together.
For 3 and 4-year-olds who are not yet at 4-year-old kinder, we also have a parent-assisted class. Children who have recently turned 3 can choose between this class and the 2 and 3-year-old class. This option allows parents to decide the class that best meets their child's needs and developmental stage.
Additionally, we have an independent class specifically designed for 4 and 5-year-olds who will be starting school the following year. These sessions are suitable for children who have turned 4 by 30th of April. In these classes, children have the opportunity to develop their independence while still receiving guidance and instruction from our experienced coaches.
It's important to note that parent involvement varies based on the class. For children aged 2 to 4 who are not yet at 4-Year Old Kindergarten, parents or adult carers actively assist the child during the lesson. Your involvement in these classes will allow you to actively participate in your child's gymnastics journey.
For 4 and 5-year-old Kinder classes, these sessions are independent, meaning adults can observe the class from our designated viewing area. This allows parents to witness their child's progress and development while still providing a safe and supportive environment for the children.
At Essendon Keilor Gymnastics Academy, we believe that preschool gymnastics is an excellent way to introduce children to the world of gymnastics while promoting their physical development. Join us for these exciting classes and watch your child's skills and confidence soar!
