The Core Pilates, a Pilates club based in Welwyn Garden City, is excited to announce a special event focused on supporting pregnant women throughout their prenatal and postnatal journeys. Our specialist pregnancy Pilates classes are designed to help manage the changes that occur during pregnancy and childbirth.
Led by Judy, our experienced prenatal and postnatal Pilates teacher, our small classes offer plenty of care and attention to each participant. The gentle exercises in these classes can help reduce lower back and pelvic pain, both before and after labour.
For expectant mothers, we offer antenatal Pilates classes every Wednesday from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm. We work closely with midwives, GPs, and practitioners to ensure that our classes are tailored to the specific needs of each stage of pregnancy. We welcome referral notes to ensure a personalised experience.
For new mothers, we have postnatal Pilates mat work classes with baby on Tuesdays from 10.30 am to 11.30 am. As long as there have been no postnatal complications, we welcome moms and their babies from 6 weeks postnatal. These classes focus on reactivating the pelvic floor, regaining muscle balance, relieving tension and pain in the spine and shoulders, and helping you get back into shape faster. It's also a fantastic opportunity to bond with your baby and connect with other new moms in a small group setting.
During our structured 1-hour sessions, we make use of a wide range of Body Balance studio equipment, including clinical reformers, trapeze tables, ladder barrels, chairs, mats, foam rollers, weighted balls, elastic bands, and exercise balls. Your progression and regression of the exercises are assessed on a monthly basis to ensure that we understand your abilities and limitations. This allows us to tailor the Pilates exercises to your individual needs and set goals for each of the three major phases of your pregnancy. With Judy, a Women’s Health Physiotherapist leading the classes, you can be assured that your antenatal or postnatal rehab plan will be expertly devised and monitored.
