Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA) stands as the beacon of excellence in Indian badminton, devoted to nurturing talent at its finest. Established in October 1994, the Academy is a joint endeavor by badminton luminaries, including the venerable Shri Prakash Padukone, Dronacharya Award winner Shri Vimal Kumar, and Shri Vivek Kumar. As a National Centre of Excellence recognized by the Ministry of Sports and the Sports Authority of India, PPBA has been instrumental in producing a lineage of world-class athletes, including Olympians and international title winners.

Nestled within the sprawling expanses of the Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence (PDCSE) in Bengaluru, PPBA offers top-tier facilities to its elite players. PDCSE, located near Kempegowda International Airport, spans 15 acres and features 16 badminton courts, along with extensive provisions for other sports like cricket, soccer, swimming, and more. The Centre supports holistic athlete development with advanced sports science centers, a fully-equipped gym, physio facilities, dining options, and comprehensive residential amenities.

PPBA’s singular focus is on the long-term advancement of elite badminton players, providing them with residential, intensive coaching designed to propel them to national and international accolades. This dedicated approach is made possible through strong partnerships with Infosys Foundation, Sunrise Sports (India) Private Limited, and R-Systems International Ltd., ensuring athletes receive the support required to achieve podium finishes.
