Westminster Boating Base is pleased to offer RYA approved Powerboating Levels 2 and Safety Boat Certificates, along with the International Certificate of Competence (ICC) with CEVNI endorsement. These courses are ideal for both young people and adults looking to enhance their sailing skills.
Our courses take place on the tidal Thames in London, giving participants an exciting and practical learning experience. We provide our own powerboats, including light alloy assault craft with Yamaha High Thrust 60hp outboard engines and Humber Destroyer 5.8m RIBs with 100hp Yamaha outboards. Certificates will be given for planing craft, ensuring participants receive recognition for their achievements.
For those individuals who already have some experience and wish to further improve their skills or knowledge, we offer private powerboat driving tuition. These sessions can accommodate up to 3 people at a time, with a rate of £75 per hour and a minimum booking of 2 hours. To inquire about booking private tuition, please email [email protected].
Young people, starting from just 10 years old, are welcome to join our courses. However, please note that those under the age of 12 will not receive the RYA Level 2 certificate. Our courses span over 2 days, during which students are taught and assessed according to the RYA standards. There is no final exam at the end of the course, making it a more relaxed and enjoyable learning experience.
Upon successful completion of the RYA Powerboat Level 2 course, participants will be awarded the prestigious RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate. What's even better is that this certificate can be seamlessly converted into an International Certificate of Competence (ICC) for individuals who are at least 16 years old. The process is facilitated by the RYA and involves some paperwork. Rest assured, our team will guide you through the entire process. The course fee for this comprehensive package is £440, and it even includes the option to take the CEVNI test for inland waterways.
