Powell River Aquatic Centre

The Powell River Aquatic Centre is an indoor swimming facility located in Powell River, offering a variety of programs and services for all ages and skill levels. The centre is a hub for aquatic activities, fitness classes, and lifeguard training, providing a well-rounded experience for all members and visitors.

Swimming & Aquatics are at the core of the Aquatic Centre, with a focus on the Swim for Life program for children aged 4 months to 12 years old. From parent-assisted classes for tots under 3 years old to advanced lifesaving skills in the Swim Patrol program, there are lessons tailored to every level. Daily Water Fitness Classes cater to those looking to improve muscle tone and mobility through resistance training in the water, with options for shallow and deep-water classes.

Public Swimming hours are available for all guests to enjoy the pools, with designated times for different activities such as Aqua-fit & Leisure, Everyone Welcome, and Lessons. The Aquatic Leadership & First Aid Training programs offer Bronze Medal courses, National Lifeguard certification, and Swim Instructor training for those interested in becoming lifeguards or instructors.

The Aquatic Centre also has a strong focus on community engagement, offering memberships, Active Living Guide, and Drop-In Schedules for easy access to all programs and schedules. The facility is part of the City of Powell Rivers Parks, Recreation & Culture department, which aims to enhance the quality of life for all citizens through recreation services, parks maintenance, and support for arts and culture.
