Are you looking to ease back into fitness after the birth of your baby? Do you want to connect with like-minded women who understand the joys and challenges of motherhood? Look no further!
Our 4 week rolling term of postnatal yoga is designed specifically for new mums like you. Whether you gave birth naturally or through a caesarean section, you can join our classes 6 weeks after a vaginal birth or 8–10 weeks after a caesarean birth, following clearance from your GP/OB/Physio. And the best part? Your little ones are more than welcome to join you in these classes!
Picture this – your baby sits or lies contentedly, watching you as you move through the poses. Or perhaps they peacefully sleep in their capsule while you focus on your practice. But here's the really special part – you can incorporate your baby into most of the poses, creating a beautiful bond between you and your bundle of joy while also doing something good for yourself.
At Offspring Yoga, we understand the unique needs and challenges that come with motherhood. That's why each class is carefully curated with a focus on topics that relate to being a mum. For example, we'll help you open up your tight shoulders from all that feeding and teach you how to use breath to navigate through stressful times.
At the beginning of every class, there will be a quick discussion to check in on how you're feeling. We want to know if you have any specific areas you'd like to address or focus on, and we'll work those into the class. After all, this is your time to reconnect with your body and mind.
We believe that postnatal yoga is about more than just physical exercise. That's why our classes also emphasise the importance of strengthening your pelvic floor muscles and targeting weakened abdominal muscles with gentle yet effective exercises. But let's not forget the social aspect – this is also your chance to step out of the house and meet other new mums!
As new mothers, we often spend countless hours dedicated to our babies, and while that bond is irreplaceable, connecting with the wider community is vital for our well-being. That's why we've made sure to create a warm and welcoming environment where you can have a chat before and after class, get to know other mums, and build a support network.
