The academy was formed in 2016 through a merger between the esteemed Possak School in Calgary, founded in 1997 by Linda Possak Anderson, and the renowned Hampshire Academy in Okotoks, founded in 2006 by sisters Ali and Cait Hampshire. Possak Hampshire dancers have achieved notable success at local, national, and international competitions, with many holding Western Canadian and Canadian National titles. The academy has also seen dancers place as high as 2nd at the North American Championships and 3rd at the World Championships.
In addition to their competitive achievements, Possak Hampshire dancers are experienced show performers, gracing stages at various venues throughout the year and earning spots in prestigious dance companies and workshops, such as Studio2Stage, Take the Floor, and the Riverdance Summer School. The academy offers classes for dancers of all levels, from beginners to elite athletes, and provides numerous performance opportunities, including a semi-annual full-scale production at University Theatre.
