The Port Weller Soccer League (PWSL) is a community-minded soccer league located in St. Catharines, Ontario. Established in 1992, PWSL initially started as a program under the Port Weller Residents Association (PWRA) and was based out of the Port Weller Community Centre. In 1998, PWSL became a separate non-profit organization, dedicated to providing quality soccer programs for all participants.
Today, PWSL is one of the largest house-league soccer clubs in the Niagara Peninsula.
PWSL focuses on four cornerstones: community, inclusivity, development, and fun. The league offers programs for children aged 3 to 17, as well as a program for individuals with special needs. All activities take place in the North end of St. Catharines, with Bogart Park serving as the “Home Field” for the league.
The program runs from mid-May to the end of August each year, with activities primarily scheduled from Monday to Friday. Registration fees include a full uniform, team photo, participation trophy, and access to Banquet Day activities.
The league is committed to providing financial assistance to ensure that all children have the opportunity to participate in the program, regardless of their family's financial circumstances. PWSL works with various organizations, such as Community Care of St. Catharines & Thorold, the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, and the City of St. Catharines Recreation Fee Assistance Program, to help families access funding for registration fees.
