Ponsonby Rugby Football Club, established in 1874, is the oldest grassroots club in Auckland, New Zealand. The club has a rich history and is widely regarded for its dominance in the Auckland Rugby Club competition. With 35 wins of the prestigious Gallaher Shield, the club holds the record for the most wins in the competition, as well as 50 regional championships. Their most notable achievement was winning the Gallaher Shield a record-breaking 10 out of 11 years from 2001 to 2011.
