Pointers Dance Studio & Gymnastics Academy is a well-established dance school and gymnastics club located in Wallington, New Zealand. The studio's team of experienced and passionate teachers are dedicated to helping their students build confidence, develop their skills, and, most importantly, have fun while dancing and participating in gymnastics. They offer a variety of dance styles, including ballet, character, national, lyrical, modern, tap, contemporary, and more. Additionally, the studio provides classes in gymnastics, acro, and vocal performance.
One notable aspect of Pointers Dance Studio is their commitment to inclusivity. They welcome children of all skill levels and are especially open to new dancers who may be new to festivals. In fact, Pointers Dance Studio is the proud host of the Wallington, Crawley & Sussex dance festivals. Originally founded in 2006 as a small one-day festival, the event has grown over the years to include three separate venues and up to 15 participating schools from all across the region.
In 2015, the festival achieved provisional membership with the British and International Federation of Festivals, and by 2016, it became a full member. However, due to overwhelming demand and popularity, the festival decided to no longer keep the British Federation status in 2017 and established its own brand. The festival also incorporates the WCS South of England Championships.
