Podilya Ukrainian Dance Ensemble has been rocking it since 1996 in Manchester. The mission? To keep the art of Ukrainian dance alive and kicking. Led by Linda Szlachetko, a talented choreographer, they're part of the Ukrainian Youth Association. They’ve got a squad of over 70 dancers, aged 4 to 29, all dedicated and super skilled.
What makes Podilya stand out? It’s not just their innovative choreography and acrobatics, but also their stunning, hand-embroidered costumes and folksy tunes. Their passion for dance and Ukrainian spirit truly shines in every performance.
They've done it all—from theatre productions and TV shows to international festivals and cabarets. Reviews have been stellar, with audiences raving about their fitness and jaw-dropping moves. Whether it's classic Cossack steps or breakdance-like routines, their versatility is top-notch.
Podilya has an impressive past performance list, including the North Pieria International Dance Festival in Greece. They even teamed up with 'The Ukrainians' for a music video showcasing Ukraine's Hutsul region. They’ve performed at the Lviv International Ukrainian Dance & Culture Festival and reached the live semi-finals on Sky 1's 'Got To Dance,' representing Ukrainians across the UK.
