Pirate Surfing

Pirate Surfing is a unique surf school dedicated 100% to children aged 5 to 14 years old. The school, founded by Diego Plaza, a passionate surfer from Lacanau, aims to provide a fun, safe, and educational surfing experience for young surf enthusiasts. With a focus on playfulness and safety, Pirate Surfing offers lessons for beginners as well as children looking to improve their skills.

At Pirate Surfing, the emphasis is not only on learning to surf but also on building confidence, overcoming fears, and getting comfortable in the water. The school believes that developing aquatic ease is crucial for children to then progress to more technical surfing abilities. Alongside surfing techniques, children are also taught about beach culture, environmental respect, and ocean safety, fostering a well-rounded understanding of the marine environment.

Lessons are tailored to the age and skill level of the participants, ensuring that each child receives quality instruction in a safe and supportive environment. Using specialized foam boards designed for safe learning, children are guided through ocean familiarization and water confidence activities to introduce them to the joy of riding the waves in a playful manner.

Diego Plaza, with his background in competitive surfing and extensive knowledge of the ocean, leads the team at Pirate Surfing.
