Pinner Archers is a well-established archery club located in Harrow, New Zealand. With a current membership of approximately 40 archers, the club has been attracting new members each year, thanks to its successful Beginners Course. Shooting sessions take place on Monday evenings from 7:30pm at Tithe Farm Social Club, with indoor shooting during the winter and outdoor shooting during the summer. In the event that the hall is not available on Mondays, shooting nights may be moved to Wednesdays.
Pinner Archers pride themselves on having four qualified coaches, one of whom is a County Coach. These coaches, who are also club members, run the Beginners Course during May, June, and July. The approximately 6-session course is held at the beginning of June and is open to both adults and children over the age of 10. The course fee is 60 per person, with a family discount of 20% (48) for additional members of the same family living at the same address.
All necessary equipment is provided for participants.
In addition to their shooting activities, Pinner Archers regularly support local fetes and festivals by offering “Have a Go sessions,” where interested individuals can experience archery firsthand. The club also has a strong connexion with the local community, as their meetings are held at the Tithe Farm Club House, and four of their members hold positions on the County Committee.
Pinner Archers have access to both indoor and outdoor shooting areas. The club has an indoor 20-yard hall at Tithe Farm, where shooting takes place during inclement weather conditions. When weather permits, shooting moves outside to the pitch, with shooting distances of up to 60 metres. During Sundays from May until October, Pinner Archers also have access to an outdoor area at Queens School in Bushey, where shooting distances of up to 90 metres for target archery and 180 yards for the clout round are available.
The club caters to both Recurve and Long Bow disciplines.
