Established in 2002, Pilates InsideOut is a traditional Pilates studio located in Tweed Heads. The studio is owned and operated by Rodney Searle and Jennifer Pohlman, both of whom have a background in professional classical ballet training. Their deep understanding of movement allows them to work with imbalances and injuries, providing personalised sessions tailored to the specific needs of each client.
We believe in the potential of everybody, at its core level. Our sessions are by appointment only, ensuring a personalised experience for each client. We offer private (1:1) sessions and shared sessions with a maximum of three clients per session. We don't follow a timetable or offer group classes, as we believe in the importance of individual attention and focus.
Pilates InsideOut combines matwork, the reformer, and other Pilates apparatus to create a comprehensive and effective workout. Many of our clients come to Pilates after trying other fitness regimes and find that they never look back. The true Pilates approach is unique and offers rewards such as muscle control, increased suppleness, core connexion, improved circulation, movement efficiency, and enhanced mental clarity.
Rodney Searle has a diverse background in gymnastics, ballet, and judo. He underwent professional ballet training under the Queensland Ballet and the Australian Ballet School, achieving his Advanced RAD accreditation. As a professional dancer, Rodney performed in numerous ballet works and toured with the Queensland Ballet Company. Pilates played an integral role in his training, rehabilitating injuries and conditioning his body for the stage.
Rodney's passion for Pilates led him to become a certified instructor, and he brings his extensive knowledge and experience to Pilates InsideOut.
Jennifer Pohlman developed a love for ballet at the age of 10 and pursued professional ballet training under the Queensland Ballet and the Victorian College of the Arts. Throughout her dance career, Pilates conditioning became an essential part of Jennifer's routine, helping her manage chronic spinal and pelvic injuries and optimise her performance. Inspired by her teachers and the positive impact of Pilates, Jennifer sought instructor training in the late '90s. Today, she combines her expertise in dance and Pilates to guide clients towards strength, flexibility, and overall wellness.
