The classes at Pilates For You are designed to ensure that each participant gets the best workout for their individual needs. Exercises are broken down into stages of complexity, and participants move to the next stage only when they are comfortable and safe. For those new to Pilates, Margaret recommends starting with a 1:1 session to gain a basic knowledge of the exercises before joining a group class.
The studio offers a variety of classes, including a speciality class on Wednesday mornings in Hitchin. This class is designed for individuals with more serious issues, such as autoimmune problems, post-surgery recovery, or neurological spinal pain like sciatica. To join a class, enrolment in advance is required. The fee covers a block of six consecutive weekly hour-long classes. If a class is missed, refunds or carryovers to the next block are not possible. However, participants can make up for a missed class by attending any other available classes, provided there are spaces.
Due to the ongoing issues with COVID-19, Pilates For You is no longer able to provide mats and other equipment. Participants will need to bring their own kit, which includes a mat, head cushions, block, 2 prickly balls, and a stretchy band. Margaret can assist with the purchase of these items if needed.
