Phoenix SMA – Hamble, founded by Phoenix in 2012, delivers top-notch Freestyle TaeKwonDo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Southampton. Initially starting with just TaeKwonDo classes, the school has grown significantly, now offering daily sessions across Hamble, Locks Heath, Sarisbury Green, and Bishop's Waltham for both martial arts.

Phoenix SMA's Freestyle TaeKwonDo, rooted in the Chang Hon Style but independent of governing bodies, welcomes participants from age three upwards. Classes encompass forms, sparring, self-defence, and board breaking, making it suitable for all skill levels.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes, affiliated with Paraestra UK, are available on weekdays for those aged five and above. These sessions focus on ground fighting and submission techniques, adding a dynamic grappling dimension to the school's offerings.

By 2023, Phoenix SMA has grown to over 300 members, spread across four venues and four After School Clubs. Phoenix promotes a collaborative teaching approach, maintaining connections with various martial arts schools and associations including Cobra Martial Arts Association and Basingstoke School of Martial Arts.
